Ziems Farms is a traditional Registered Holstein Farm in the truest sense of the word. After Cornell (1971) Steve and Barb returned to Steve's parents farm trying to establish a Registered herd that would be well thought of in New York. As the first BAA was only 94.8 in 1970 there was a long road ahead. Modest purchases were made. The cattle were always mated with type improvements in mind. Gradually the Rosa and S family started to emerge. As with many family farms, juniors can be a great stimulus to take a herd to the next level. In our case sons Kevin 32, (Ziembarbway) and Tim, 27 were that stimulus and are still very much so today!

Ziems Farms scored Sat Dec 10th. There were 6 new Excellents bring the home bred totoal to 130. New Excellents include Col-Zie Outside Prudence EX-92, 2nd calf; Ziems Stoneham Iggy EX-91, 2nd calf (6 gen EX Ivys); BKB Leduc Audrey EX, 3 yrs with a 93-MS (dtr of Shoremar S Alicia); Ziems Durham Sia EX at 4 yrs.; Ziems Durham Lor EX at 3 yrs; and Ziems Storm Phoenix, EX ( a third gen EX going back to Bell Paul). Other Highlites include Ziems Outside Babylon and Ziems Dante Loony Tune both scoring EX-93 at 5-0. Scoring EX-94-3E was Ziems Charles Rebecca a 7th generation EX. Picking up E's were Ziems Lee Selia 2E-94 & Ziems Airliner Iguana 3E-94. Lylehaven Rubens Mia-RC scored VG-88 at 2 yrs. She is the matenal sister to the All-American Marriett and top of the recent NY Harvest Sale in Nov 05. Another red carrier Ziems Encounter Amber-RC scored VG-88 2y. her Lindy dam moved up to EX-91.
